General Concepts

The LEAP Bridge Steel user interface is designed to use similar data entry and visualization methods throughout. These consist of the following:

  • List Controls – list controls are used to manage multiple higher level objects of the same type (for example members, cross frames, etc.). A typical list control can be seen in the Member Definition command as shown below.


  • Panels – Panels are used to enter data in instances where there is a fixed number of data elements. A typical panel control can be seen in the Cross Frame Definition command as shown below.


  • Grids – Grids are used when there can be multiple instances of an element with no fixed limit. A typical grid control can be seen in the Pier/Abutment Location command as shown below.


  • Graphic display window – Graphic display windows are typically used to display data entered in the Panel and Grid controls. These displays show all data as soon as it has been entered in what you see is what you get fashion.
